I have the PS My GPU is and I know it's not compatible. What I want to know are any of the Intel Core series i5, etc compatible with it? That's all I see when I look for laptops. I'm considering buying one. My laptop doesn't have much memory 4GB although I was able to add a little more. If I get one with 8GB would that help? Thanks in advance.
Oh yes, the i5s are OpenCL compatable. Even my 7 y. Dell and Macbook Pro can run it. You need at least OpenCL 1. Seems pretty old. The oil filter isn't greyed out. However, when I select it, it says I need to update my driver. My computer is a couple years old. How do I know a computer has an open CL when I shop for one? Can you post your system info as requested by Gene, that way we can help you with the driver update and find out what GPU you actually have.

It still says it has trouble with the display driver. Oh and the OpenGL is greyed out. I can't check it. I don't know exactly what's causing the error, but 4 GB is sparse for Photoshop which needs 8 GB, some going to the Intel Graphics card. OpenCL still greyed out. And I followed your instructions. I think you're right about the memory.
One time I found away to increase it to 7. Funny how I can use the other filters like lightning effects but not the oil paint. Unlike other filters, it does need that.
